Hello Everyone!
This week I have a few activities and a few reminders for all of your Kindergarten students. 1. If you, at any point are looking for resources for a particular skill, or have questions or concerns about something please reach out to me. I am trying very hard to keep a balance of giving your kids some schoolwork to do at home, without overwhelming you during seeding, at home quarantine, nice weather that kids would like to enjoy etc. I very much appreciate all of you who continue to do the activities, send pictures of the kids, review the stories and videos from previous weeks and work on the at home packages that I delivered weeks ago. Thank you so much. I miss your kiddos so so much each day. 2. The academic expectation for students who leave kindergarten and enter Grade 1 in a typical year is that they can recognize and represent numbers 1-20, they can identify each upper and lower case letter and tell which sound it makes and they can understand and discuss stories that are read to them. These skills should be practiced frequently now and through the summer. They can be practiced in so many ways, if you feel you need ideas for hands on learning please ask. 3. For this week and the next 3 weeks, I will post one alphabet/sound activity and one number activity. Please take a picture or video of you child doing each/completed each and EMAIL it to me at [email protected]. I need this content to help me to report on your child's learning during distance learning due to COVID-19.
