Hey everyone. If you didn't look at the post from last week, check it out. It has some important year end information, as does the calendar tab. The break down of the next few weeks as we wrap up our very strange end to kindergarten is this: June 2: last zoom call with group 9:30am. June 9: last blog post with academic content June 16: individual calls to say goodbye June 23: in school pick up: portfolios/report cards/ student items/gift from me to your child. Should any of this change I will let you know! Thanks for joining in on our Zoom calls lately and a giant shout out to all the parents who have worked at home with their kids on the academic and play based content, shared pictures when asked, shared with me about all the fun farm-life things the kids are participating in. I love hearing your stories and getting your feedback. Enjoy the sunshine! (2 stories under stories and 2 activities posted under literacy for this week).

Hello Everyone!
This week I have a few activities and a few reminders for all of your Kindergarten students. 1. If you, at any point are looking for resources for a particular skill, or have questions or concerns about something please reach out to me. I am trying very hard to keep a balance of giving your kids some schoolwork to do at home, without overwhelming you during seeding, at home quarantine, nice weather that kids would like to enjoy etc. I very much appreciate all of you who continue to do the activities, send pictures of the kids, review the stories and videos from previous weeks and work on the at home packages that I delivered weeks ago. Thank you so much. I miss your kiddos so so much each day. 2. The academic expectation for students who leave kindergarten and enter Grade 1 in a typical year is that they can recognize and represent numbers 1-20, they can identify each upper and lower case letter and tell which sound it makes and they can understand and discuss stories that are read to them. These skills should be practiced frequently now and through the summer. They can be practiced in so many ways, if you feel you need ideas for hands on learning please ask. 3. For this week and the next 3 weeks, I will post one alphabet/sound activity and one number activity. Please take a picture or video of you child doing each/completed each and EMAIL it to me at [email protected]. I need this content to help me to report on your child's learning during distance learning due to COVID-19. Hey Parents,
As the year winds down, I am so thankful for you as parents who have taken on teaching your children at home with such grace and ambition. I am amazed each day at the experiences you are providing for them. Last week we did story sharing. below is a list of the stories shared. :) On that note, if you wish to order from scholastic at all for the remainder of the year, please let me know. The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Smelly Socks, Scooby Doo, Oscar the Octopus, When I Grow Up, No David, The Digger and the Flower, There was an old lady who swallowed a moose, Pinkalicious Slumber Party, The Very Cranky Bear, Just Me and My Mom Little Critter.
