Hey Everyone,
I hope this new week finds you in good health and we have a sunny week to enjoy ahead! Thank you for taking the time to connect with me last week. I loved being able to talk to each of you and your children. I am missing them! As mentioned in our phone conversations, the key points I want you to take away from our kindergarten online learning, are these: 1. Playing is how children learn- do the fun stuff, I always want you to choose playing with your child over the academic work I send. 2. Academically, if a child enters grade one, with the ability to identify all 26 letters and their sounds as well as numbers 1-20 (representing and identifying) they will be ready! As an added bonus, (if we were in class) we would be working to know some sight words and how to blend/read simple words together (nap, cat, red- these are called cvc words). I will post resources for you to do all these things with your child. These are what we call the "big rocks" for academics in Kindergarten 3. Moving forward, I will call/facetime you and your child every two weeks to make contact and stay connected. Beyond that, I encourage you to reach out with questions, videos, pictures about your child at anytime. I am available on remind and email Monday-Thursday all day! 4. I will post our Kindergarten online learning every week on Monday or Tuesday for you to do with them throughout the week! Please head over to the Literacy and Purposeful Play tabs for this weeks learning!
